After a workout, it may take hours or days to fully recover on a cellular level. This formula is specifically designed to help your body recover from all aspects of training, including muscle repair and ATP restoration. Completely non-GMO and free of soy, gluten and artificial flavours or sweeteners. PWR is a proprietary combination of Digezyme, Boswellin and Curcumin C3 complex with Bioperine.
An endurance athlete participates in rigorous training and relies on food as fuel. When hard training athletes consume higher amounts of calories, digestion can be compromised. Supplementation with digestive enzymes may benefit an athletes ability to digest some carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Furthermore, enzymes ability to increase the rate at which nutrients are broken down can help increase blood glucose leading to enhanced performance parameters.
I cycle most days in good weather and that can take a toll on the body if I’ve done a few days of heavy sessions in a row. Cycling is my main hobby, and I find it annoying when my head is up for a trip through the country lanes in the sunshine but my body just isn’t playing ball. Spotting these Post Workout Recovery capsules by Rite-Flex™ offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme they looked just the thing to stave off those sore muscles and reduce the frustration of that ‘riding through treacle’ effect which can mar an afternoon’s exercise.
Opening the cardboard packet reveals a glass bottle containing 60 bright yellow capsules, each 18mm long and which forms a two month supply at the recommended one a day. They are vegetarian but not vegan, and state that they are free from Genetically Modified Organisms, Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Eggs, Stearic Acid and Nuts, which is good to know if you suffer from those common food allergies or have concerns over GMO foods. There’s absolutely no taste to the capsules, although I did get an aftertaste of turmeric, which is confirmed by sniffing the opened bottle, with a faint but distinctive odour of turmeric, (a spice familiar to me as it gets used for cooking in my house) noticeable.
Looking at the product information the 175mg capsules contain a number of trademarked constituents:
• DigeZyme™ – a truncation of digestive enzymes. It is explained that supplementation may benefit athletes’ ability to digest some carbohydrates, proteins and fat and increase the rate at which nutrients are broken down helping to increase blood glucose.
• Boswellin Super™ – an extract from the gum resin of the Boswellia serrata tree, commonly known as Frankincense and sometimes used to ease stress and relieve pain and inflammation.
• Curcumin C3 Complex™ – obtained from the dried rhizomes of Turmeric, which aids the antioxidant capacity of the body and is a natural anti-inflammatory compound.
• BioPerine™ – a supplement extracted from the fruit of black pepper said to increase the bio-availability of some nutritional compounds.
The constituents on the face of it appear to offer both a boost to the digestive system, so fuel is absorbed more efficiently, whilst offering some anti-inflammatory properties to ease post-workout soreness, exactly what I required, with the product information adding: “This formula is specially designed to help your body recover from all aspects of training, including muscle repair”.
Having taken these capsules for a while and after fairly heavy cycling sessions rather than sticking to one a day when poorer weather puts me off riding or I only have time to fit in a short spin they certainly seem to take the edge off the soreness in the legs which is otherwise so familiar. I find that this has both encouraged and enabled me to stretch some rides a little further, which is not a bad thing given my desire to loose some excess weight. I was worried that the digestive enzymes might affect my occasionally delicate stomach, but thankfully this potential concern was misplaced.
Whilst I’m using these for cycling I could equally see their value for runners, swimmers, weightlifters, rowers and anyone who plays energetic team sports like football or rugby when they are again allowed after the Covid-19 lockdown is finally over. I thought at £14.99 they offer good value for money at 25p per capsule, and if you are the sporty type who occasionally likes to push the envelope they certainly do a job.
I do training a lot and this product is great it helps you in so may ways to recover and feel good after your workout .
It is easy to swallow the tables ,there are 60 and you take 1 daily ,
2 month supply for price of just around £15 ( at the mo I reviewed it )
Is a great value
After a workout, it may take hours or days to fully recover on a cellular level. This formula is specially designed to help your body recover from all aspects of train
My partner has taken similar digestive enzymes to this (as well as supplementing with curcumin individually/separately) for a long time now and considers them essential for quicker and more effective recovery times, especially during more intense training periods, as well as improving performance as a direct result of this and it’s also good to know you’re in a better position to be getting the most of the beneficial aspects of your healthy eating and maximizing your nutrients etc. He’s stuck to this for a full five weeks now since switching to it and not experienced any issues at all (including any prolonged recovery times compared to before or any dips in energy compared to when using his previous complex) and with a few weeks worth left to go would be happy to stick with this one, especially as it’s reasonable value too.
I’m a very active 53 and rack up around 15 hours of exercise per week divided between cycling (particularly Zwift once a day, with 2 to 3 races a week totalling around 300km because of C-19 restrictions), the remainder made up with walks of between 1 and 2 hours per day. I tend to suffer from interrupted sleep, which knocks down my HRV and recovery. The cumulative effect is that my recovery seems impeded. I started taking these around 2 weeks ago and I have started to see far better recovery, even though my sleep is still disturbed. Can’t say fairer than that.
These capsules are to be taken one a day post workout. My husband was experiencing muscle fatigue and cramps after running so has been taking these. The recovery after his running sessions is improving but this could be partly due to improved stretching and cool down. He does feel that his energy levels are better able to cope with the run and recovery afterwards so I think they help!
I can feel these pills working, which is great. My recovery after a workout is much better. I always need to guzzle a lot of water afterwards and I feel I’m able to do this without upsetting my stomach and bringing it back up. I have no gallbladder too so the digestive enzymes are a huge help when I don’t need to work out.
is 1-2 tablets per day,so either a 30 or a 60 day supply according to usage.
FREE FROM – GMO, Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Eggs, Stearic Acid & Nuts.
A great formula, specially designed to help your body recover after training
They are reasonable priced and easy to swallow.
I’ve been taking these to help me build up my fitness and recover better from my lockdown yoga sessions and it’s really helping. The capsules aren’t too large so they’re manageable in terms of swallowing them and I’ve definitely noticed I’m less achey and tired.
This capsule is vegetarian friendly , also free from GMO, Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Eggs, Stearic Acid & Nuts. Me and my husband tried it after exercise. it does help our body recover from the training, even some muscle pain. glad it works
I got these during lockdown, when the Joe wicks PE sessions were actually killing me!! They are reasonable price, easy to take, flavourless, hopefully they are helping my body recover
Wow… This is lovely! Helps recovery and was easy to swallow too! The price is not that bad either (compared to others on the market!)
It is difficult to review products such as these capsules, as you can’t be 100% sure how you would feel if you hadn’t taken the pills – would your post-workout ache be as bad without these helpful capsules, for example? What I have noticed over the past week or so of taking these tablets each day is that workouts that would leave me sore the day after leave me noticeably less sore. The biggest difference is the day after running a long distance: if I go for a bike ride the day after running, I have in the past really felt it in my thighs, especially early on in the cycle. Since using these, I have found that my thighs don’t have quite the same level of burn. Yes, they still ache a little from the run – that is what I would expect! – but it means the cycle is less gruelling!
I have also found that in the mornings when I get out of bed there is less of a muscular ache from exercise, which I have found especially gratifying! My digestion is also a lot better. In the past, after a long run I have not been able to eat for a good hour afterwards as it unsettles my stomach; since using these pills I have not had any such problems.
I really appreciate that these pills have been produced with such an eye to people with allergies or dietary needs, so they are vegan, nut free and gluten free, for example – very important for so many of us!
I have been taking two pills a day, so this would be a month’s supply for me, which at the current price point seems more than worth it – 50p a day or 25p a pill – for the health benefits the pills seem to have given me, making recovery less achy and making working out on successive days much less of a slog!
I fell last June and landed on my entire right arm from shoulder to wrist as a result I now get repeated pain in my elbow after too many weight related arm exercises ( press ups, burpees etc). Nothing seemed to ease the pain or was temporary but these tablets seem to be really working, the pain is easing and my whole arm feels a lot better.
You get 60 veggie caps with digezyme, curcumin and boswellin super that do not have that over powerful turmeric taste which makes it super easy to swallow. In the past when I have consumed similar products I have found the taste too much or the caps too big. For the price too these are pretty reasonable and will buy once these have been finished.
My partner has been taking this supplement for a couple of weeks now and believes it’s helping boost his recovery after his workouts. The supplement contains good amounts of the active ingredients and seems to be a good quality supplement.
The capsules are easy to swallow and haven’t caused any side effects. This pack will last for two months, and at the current price of £14.99 my partner thinks it’s reasonably priced.
I’ve given these a good period of time to see if they appear to help. I am doing HIIT classes (live Zoom during lockdown), cycling and running. I do feel as if they help manage aches and overall seem to help me recover. Nothing is a silver bullet but these a re good and are part of my post exercise routine as I see benefit.
Nicely presented which always gives some confidence. Easy to swallow and as with any other supplements, you trust what’s on the label. I think you notice more if you’re lacking a vitamin or supplement rather than if you’re taking it. I don’t feel I’m missing anything while taking these.
This post-recovery supplements contain Boswellin & Curcumin with Bioperine & DigeZyme to aid recovery after workouts. After taking these capsules, I can say that they have sped up my recovery time after workouts and feelings of soreness have been significantly reduced in my legs after going for short high intensity runs during lockdown.
The capsules are small & orange colour, & come in a glass bottle which was unexpected – most supplements come in a plastic container. The top is properly sealed & the cap is also made from metal, which is easily recyclable. They are easy to swallow & it is recommended to take 1 daily with water.
This is a quality supplement from Rite-Flex. It’s vegan-friendly, contains no harmful or pointless ingredients, and does contribute to post-training recovery. There’s one key ingredient missing, though – the single most important nutrient involved in recovery from intense exercise: L-glutamine. That amino acid should be the cornerstone of any post-exercise recovery supplement. There are useful active ingredients in this Rite-Flex concoction. Curcumin (from turmeric) has been shown to accelerate muscle healing after exercise. Bioperine (from black pepper) dramatically increases the body’s ability to absorb curcumin, so those two ingredients work in synergy with each other. Boswellin Super extract (from frankincense) reduces pain and acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory. Brown rice is a complex carbohydrate that, once broken down, helps to replenish glycogen depleted from cells during exercise. Digestive enzymes improve protein digestion and enhance the absorption of a variety of nutrients.
The manufacturer has combined a well-thought-out spectrum of quality ingredients to make an effective supplement that does enhance recovery, but it’s not as good as it could be. Had L-glutamine been in the mix, this would have been a five-star review rather than a four. The bottle contains 60 one-a-day capsules.
